I had the blessing of working with one of the Vacation Bible School teams. I am AMAZED at the wonder of our incredible Father in Heaven! It was an incredible week of seing little ones learn of the love of Jesus. As an adult on the site, I was just as blessed by being able to see an amazing group of young people step up and be used by our Lord! Deep Impact for us was two-fold.....the impact God had in several areas of four counties as well as the impact God had on those of us blessed enough to be there. The youngest member of our church group worked in construction...he truly modeled Paul's advice to Timothy to not allow his youth to keep him from serving. He hung in there with everyone who was older and soaked in every part of our worship in the evening. He shared with a Bible School he is attending here in our home about the well project and they want to share their offering with the effort to provide wells that are much needed in India. The beauty of letting The Light shine is continuing to have a "Deep Impact" long past the week we were in Grifton. THANK YOU Mike, Sarah, and Billy...may God continue to fill your cups overflowing and to renew your strength to truly mirror His love wherever you are. You will be prayed for and have a permanent place in our hearts! We love you guys!

It was truly an amazing week at Deep Impact. Probably the most memorable moment was at the construction site in Kinston. The daughter of the lady whose house we worked on showed up at the job site. She had a folder with her that said "God's Angels" and she was chronicling all the work done on her mother's house. She asked that all the participants to sign their name and church in a scrapbook that she is keeping for her mother. Her mother doesn't even know that her house has been transformed. She is scheduled to get out of the hospital in two weeks and return home. Her daughter told us that her mother might faint when she sees what her home looks like now.

Thanks Mike and Billy for an awesome week. Continue to "Shine the Light" down east!!

I am one of the youth leaders who took our youth to the first week of DI at Grifton. We all had a wonderful time and accomplished a great deal for the Lord. We saw had God was able to use each of the teams to shine His light into the darkness. At the jobsite where I was, we had about thirty to thirty-five people working on different projects including tearing down an old storage building that had been messed up by a falling tree. We then proceeded to rebuild a new storage building in its place and another just like it for the next door neighbor. Another group worked on taking out some windows from the house and replaceing them with new improved windows that would allow the homeowner to heat and cool the room easier. Another team completely repainted the home for the homeowner. Another team tore down and replaced a run-down fence between the two houses. Finally, one last team did some beautiful landscaping for both of the home. Because of the efforts of these groups Billy the director of the Grifton Mission ministries has had several more people from this one neighborhood to contact him about needs that they have as well. Pray for him as he follows up on these contacts and for the other groups that will be going into this community to shine their light. Thanks Mike and Billy for a wonderful week.
