“You Will Be My Witnesses”

In Acts 1:8 Jesus said, “You will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” A witness is someone who has a story to tell. The story we seek to tell as followers of Christ is that there is an assured hope for all of eternity available in Christ. This spring and summer many of you will be a part of sharing that great message of hope in so many ways and in so many places. This blog has been designed for you to tell how God is working in your lives and in the lives of the people you will become witnesses to on the mission field. It is my hope that through your stories, other teenagers across our state will be inspired to tell their story in their Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and the ends of the earth.

I am one of the youth group leaders who has been blessed and commissioned to go with a group to Honduras. We leave in just 2 months and 4 days. Wow! We must be prepared because someone’s eternity will be affected by our witness. Bless us Jesus as we go to tell the world that Jesus Loves Us!

Tegucigalpa here we come! I enjoyed the orientation yesterday and I can hardly wait for June 24th. I am really looking forward to another landing at Toncontin! Seriously, our prayer is that God would use all of us to build His kingdom during Deep Impact. The Floyd’s Creek folks are ready!

I am gearing up for Grifton, NC. My high school student ministry is exploding with interested kids who have never gone to church before coming to my midweek program, and so I pray that this kind of mission will inspire them to put their faith into practice. It is, I admit, a lot easier to sell a “retreat” to an unchurched parent than a “mission”. But God is in the details…
